Climate

Original regulator of a climate in Odessa is the Black sea. In winter it softens frosts, in summer weakens heat. The local landscape gives the possibility of free movement of air, which is dry, soft, clean and rich by oxygen. In Odessa bathing season usually begins in June when temperature of sea water is +20°C, sometimes such temperature is established in May and keeps till September. In summer average temperature of sea water is +23-25°C, temperature of air is +25-30°C.

Transport

Urban transport runs enough regularly, there are a lot of city bus, trolleybus and tram routes, which help you to get to any part of the city. There is a well developed system of “routing taxi” - microbuses that duplicate basic bus routes but the trip in such buses will be more comfortable and faster. You can arrive to Odessa can by a personal car, by plane to Odessa international airport, by train or passenger ship.
There are direct airflights to Odessa from Kiev, Moscow, Yerevan, Vienna, Istanbul, Dubai, Larnaka, Tel Aviv, Athenes, Baku, Budapest, Warsaw, Ekaterinburg and other large cities of the world.
Railway communication: there are direct trains more than to 40 cities of Ukraine and CIS.

Currency

The Ukrainian currency – grivnya – circulates in Odessa, but it is convenient to use USD for the foreigners and citizens of CIS and you can easily exchange USD in any area of city. A rate of exchange is 1 USD – approximately 5,15 grivnya. Almost in all hotels and travel agencies, many shops, restaurants and entertaining centres it is possible to pay using credit cards VISA, Maestro, Master Card, American Express.

Seaside resorts

Odessa is one of oldest and most popular resorts of Ukraine. On the base of development of resort business there are favorable natural factors: a successful combination of the sea and steppe climate, plenty of solar days, warm sea, salty reservoirs – firth with curative mud, abundance of vegetables and fruit. In the beginning of its formation and during more than 150 years Odessa resorts developed as mud resorts. The first resort of Odessa was Kuyalnik. In 1833 a medical institution was open here and proposed "warm baths". In 20th century Odessa begins to develop as seaside resort, and people came to Odessa not only for treatment but also for rest. Today Odessa has a system of sanatorium, recreation centers, and tourist centers. Ukrainian research institute of medical rehabilitation and resort is situated in Odessa and it is providing the great research – advisory and practical help. One of the important natural factors of the Odessa resorts is climate. Climatic treatment helps to increase not specific and specific organism reactivity, protective reactions, and immunological status.

Entertainments

Odessa is a popular resort, so here there is a huge amount of every possible places of entertainments – casino, restaurants, bars, discos, game centres, sports complexes. In summer time numerous outdoor cafe in center of the city and along all sea coast, near city beaches will help you to rest from a long walk. A favorite place of rest, in which concentrate the night life of the city is Arkadiya beach. Here you will find discos, a lot of cafes and bars, restaurants. Also a popular place is a district around the central street – Deribasovskaya. Here there are a lot of entertaining places working all-the-year-round and opening only in summer.
